Dr. John Mach serves as Evolent’s Chief Medical Officer. John has 30 years of clinical and business leadership experience improving care and lowering costs for people with complex medical conditions, disabilities, advanced illness or end-of-life needs. John spent 13 years as Chief Medical Officer and CEO at Evercare, a division of UnitedHealth Group, serving frail elderly and people with disabilities. He also served as Chief Medical Officer of United’s Medicare division, Ovations. Following his UnitedHealth tenure, he was the Chief Medical Officer of XLHealth, a Medicare Duals and Chronic Illness Special Needs Plan, the President and General Manager of Complex Care Management at Univita, a national risk-bearing home care services company, and General Manager of Mach Health Care Strategies consulting practice. Prior to his service at UnitedHealth Group, John spent 10 years in clinical, academic and leadership positions in geriatric medicine at the University of Minnesota/VA Medical Center, as well as several years in private practice primary care internal medicine. John serves as a Trustee of the John A. Hartford Foundation and Board of Directors member, involving telemonitoring and caregiver ventures.
