Dr. Andrew Snyder serves as Evolent's Chief Medical Officer. Prior to joining Evolent Health, Dr. Snyder served as Executive Vice President & Chief Clinical Integration Officer for Mount Sinai Health System, as well as President of Mount Sinai Health Partners, IPA, a network of almost 3,500 physicians, both employed and voluntary. In this capacity, he developed and implemented the clinical delivery redesign and transformation towards Population Health and value-based care for the System.
Prior to his role at Mount Sinai, Dr. Snyder served as the CMO at Brown & Toland Physicians, a leading Pioneer ACO/IPA with over 1,700 physicians and 400,000 lives in the Northern California market. As CMO, Dr. Snyder oversaw all clinical programs including Care Management, Quality Improvement and Utilization Management across all plans, products and ACO programs. Early in his career, Dr. Snyder spent 13 years in health system clinical leadership positions at Lifespan and Stamford Health System after completing his pediatric residency at the University of Colorado.
Dr. Snyder received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, with honors, in 1989. He then spent a post-graduate year at the University of Illinois studying Neuroimmunology. In 1990, Dr. Snyder entered the University of Connecticut Medical School, graduating with distinction in 1994. Dr. Snyder then pursued his training in Pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital, Denver, CO. After completion, he began his career as a faculty member at Hasbro Children’s Hospital, Brown Medical School in Providence, RI, and in 2002 became Director of the Ambulatory Clinics. In 2006, he became Vice Chairman for Administrative Affairs for the Department of Pediatrics.
