The Job:

Evolent Health is looking for an experienced Revenue Accounting Manager who will be a key contributor in a fast-paced environment. The Revenue Accounting Manager will be leading the day-to-day revenue recognition activities and reviewing the month-end financial reporting, while being actively involved in the monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue recognition processes. The position requires strong knowledge of revenue recognition principles and the new ASC 606 guidance from both a detailed and big-picture perspective.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Oversee the entire revenue recognition process for Evolent Health, including supervision of 3 senior revenue accountants (onshore and offshore) to ensure complete and accurate revenue recognition
  • Review of all revenue related contracts and completion of associated revenue review checklists and standard selling price analyses to determine proper revenue recognition methodology. This includes revenue from contracts, percentage of completion, reallocation from multiple element arrangements, and variable consideration
  • Communicate effectively with both internal and external contacts in order to obtain the monthly support required for revenue recognition in a timely manner
  • Responsible for timely and accurate close of the revenue cycle, including detailed review of the revenue calculations, reconciliations, reporting requirements and analytic explanations
  • Provide ready-to-present analysis and findings of revenue results on a monthly basis to the Accounting and Finance teams, including the Controller, VP of Finance, and CFO
  • Lead process improvement and development of new procedures to maximize productivity and minimize re-work
  • Responsible for timely and accurate preparation of the revenue related footnote disclosures for the quarterly and annual SEC filings
  • Prepare audit schedules and assist external auditors during quarterly review and annual audit periods
  • Ensure that all key controls for the revenue cycle are in place and operating effectively, including detailed documentation and evidence of review, to comply with the Company’s Sarbanes-Oxley 404 internal controls procedures
  • Interface with business groups throughout the Company, effectively communicating and educating on revenue recognition requirements and associated guidance
  • Participate in ad-hoc special projects

The Experience You’ll Need (Required):

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Active CPA license
  • 5+ years of experience in the accounting field, with experience in relevant revenue recognition field
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and the new ASC 606 guidance
  • Experience with an ERP system (Workday is a plus)
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Supreme attention to details
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently, organize and plan work effectively to meet goals and deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across cross-functional departments

Finishing Touches (Preferred):

  • 2-3 years of Public Accounting experience
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • M&A diligence and integration experience preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to convey business requirements and technical needs in a clear, concise, and effective manner
  • Knowledge of compliance with Sarbanes Oxley, including identifying and documenting key controls and processes, and supporting internal control testing
  • Ability to train, mentor and motivate team members
